Politically speaking, turning against the Chinese government in Tibet issues wont do Aussie government any good in terms of establishing a tighter strategic relationship between the two nations. Furthermore it s the most stupid idea to stick to the old fashion white Australia policy and carry it even further to the economic life under the GFC. Unfortunately some conservative politicians just dont understand the aftermath of their decision.
